And that inner conflict only adds to the challenges you\u2019re facing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>This is why it\u2019s so important to take care of your physical and mental health while working from home. When you do, you\u2019ll find that you\u2019re more productive.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>So let\u2019s actually take advantage of the many benefits of remote working to take care of our physical and mental health. Here are a few ideas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Take_true_breaks\"><span>Take true breaks<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.focusboosterapp.com\/blog\/the-science-behind-the-pomodoro-technique\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer\"><span>Research has shown<\/span><\/a><span> that you\u2019ll be more productive when you take regular breaks from work. And this is easier to do when you\u2019re working from home. You can even go for a walk around the block to clear your head or take a quick personal call. This is extremely helpful when you\u2019re feeling stressed out about a work conflict.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Because it\u2019s challenging to get that kind of separation when you\u2019re physically in the workplace, but when you\u2019re at home, you may find it easier to disconnect mentally because you\u2019re already disconnected physically.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Plan_healthier_meals\"><span>Plan healthier meals<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span>When you\u2019re physically at work, there\u2019s a good chance you\u2019re hitting up the vending machines (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/smallbusiness.chron.com\/deal-overeating-workplace-18943.html\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer\"><span>or Sally\u2019s stash of Skittles<\/span><\/a><span>). And there may be even more temptations at home. But at home, you can do something about it. Try to stock your fridge with healthier meals and do some meal prep just like you would if you had to bag lunch for work. We always make the worst food decisions when we\u2019re hungry, which is why we should never shop on an empty stomach. It\u2019s also why we should plan every meal and lots of healthy snacks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>If you get stuck on ideas, consider spending one of your five-minute breaks searching for <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fittrimhappy.com\/quarantine-snacks\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer\"><span>healthy snack ideas<\/span><\/a><span>. You may even be able to get the groceries delivered while you work.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Workout_in_the_morning\"><span>Workout in the morning<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span>Take the time you would typically spend on your morning commute and spend it exercising instead. You might be tempted to spend it sleeping instead, but reconsider. If you need some extra sleep, you can always go to bed earlier.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Exercise is a stress-boosting activity that will help enhance your overall health and prepare you mentally and physically for the day ahead. The beauty of this is that you can do any type of exercise you want. And if you have time, you can even hit the gym.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Avoid_damaging_habits\"><span>Avoid damaging habits<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span>When you first got the call about your work-from-home situation, you may have spent a day or two celebrating with an early cocktail. And while this is a terrible idea for productivity, it\u2019s even worse for your health. It\u2019s important to maintain a separation between your work time and personal life, and it\u2019s incredibly dangerous to get into the habit of day drinking. If you find yourself drinking often, look out for the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/genesishouse.net\/blog\/what-are-key-signs-that-you-or-a-loved-one-is-becoming-addicted-to-drugs-or-alcohol\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer\"><span>warning signs and symptoms of addiction<\/span><\/a><span>. It can creep up on you and you and have a negative impact on both your physical and mental wellbeing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Working from home has many benefits and can provide an amazing boost to your overall mental and emotional well-being.
