We\u2019re also deep diving on new <\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/geforce\/graphics-cards\/40-series\/\"><i>GeForce RTX 40 Series GPU<\/i><\/a><i> features, technologies and resources, and how they dramatically accelerate content creation.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Artist Ducky 3D creates immersive experiences through vibrant visuals and beautiful 3D environments in the alien-inspired animation <i>Stylized Alien Landscape \u2014 <\/i>this week <i>In the NVIDIA Studio<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>Ducky 3D is a modern Renaissance man who works with musicians from around the world, creating tour packages and visual art related to the music industry. As a 3D fanatic who specializes in Blender, he often guides emerging and advanced 3D artists to new creative heights. It\u2019s no surprise that his weekly YouTube tutorials have garnered over 400,000 subscribers.<\/p>\n<p><i>Stylized Alien Landscape<\/i> is uniquely individualistic and was built entirely in Blender using geometry nodes, or geo nodes.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_62073\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-62073\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.nvidia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/In-The-NVIDIA-Studio-Ducky-3D-Customization.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-62073\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.nvidia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/In-The-NVIDIA-Studio-Ducky-3D-Customization-672x378.png\" alt=\"In the NVIDIA Studio Ducky 3D Customization\" width=\"672\" height=\"378\"><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-62073\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><i>Geo nodes can add organic style and customization to Blender scenes and animation.<\/i><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The use of geo nodes in Blender has recently skyrocketed. That\u2019s because they virtually make modeling a completely procedural process \u2014 allowing for non-linear, non-destructive workflows and the instancing of objects \u2014 to create incredibly detailed scenes using small amounts of data. Geo nodes can also organically modify all types of geometry, including meshes, curves, volumes, instances and more. Many of these were edited in the making of <i>Stylized Alien Landscape<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>Ducky 3D opened a new scene, created a simple cube and applied several popular geo nodes, including <i>random value<\/i>, <i>triangulate<\/i> and <i>dual mesh<\/i>. By simple trial and error with numeric values, he was able to create a provocative, alien-inspired visual.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI use geometry nodes to take advantage of the dual mesh, which creates organic shapes by manipulating with simple deformations,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_62070\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-62070\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.nvidia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/In-The-NVIDIA-Studio-Ducky-3D-Powered-Up.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-62070\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.nvidia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/In-The-NVIDIA-Studio-Ducky-3D-Powered-Up-672x378.png\" alt=\"In The NVIDIA Studio Ducky 3D\" width=\"672\" height=\"378\"><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-62070\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><i>Ducky 3D\u2019s GeForce 4090 RTX GPU ensured smooth movement in the viewport with virtually no noise.<\/i><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Simply adding a transform node to the mix got the animation going. Ducky 3D then copied all nodes and scaled the duplicated render to create two animations rotating simultaneously.<\/p>\n<p>Next, Ducky 3D turned his focus to lighting the object, selecting the Blender Cycles renderer to do so.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRendering lighting is drastically better in Cycles, but you do you,\u201d he said with candor.<\/p>\n<p>Blender Cycles RTX-accelerated OptiX ray tracing in the viewport unlocks interactive, photoreal rendering for modeling and animation work.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_62067\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-62067\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.nvidia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/In-The-NVIDIA-Studio-Ducky-3D-Shading-Nodes.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-62067\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.nvidia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/In-The-NVIDIA-Studio-Ducky-3D-Shading-Nodes-672x378.png\" alt=\"In the NVIDIA Studio Ducky 3D\" width=\"672\" height=\"378\"><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-62067\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><i>Ducky 3D applies shading nodes to \u201cStylized Alien Landscape.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/i><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Here, Ducky 3D can quickly create more realism in two ways: adding depth of field by playing with distance options and the flat shaded view, and bringing the background out of focus and the object into focus.<\/p>\n<p>Volume \u201cjust makes things look cool,\u201d Ducky 3D added.
