New capabilities include an export feature using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/omniverse\/usd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Universal Scene Description (OpenUSD)<\/a>, an open, extensible file framework enabling non-destructive workflows and collaboration in scene creation.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.nvidia.com\/blog\/2023\/05\/10\/elara-systems-omniverse-creator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Benjamin Samar<\/a>, technical director of video production company Elara Systems, is using the Adobe Substance 3D Painter Connector to provide a \u201cuniquely human approach to an otherwise clinical discussion,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Samar and his team tapped the Connector to create an animated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=uLErpmC8AkI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">public-awareness video for sickle cell disease<\/a>. The video aims to help adolescents experiencing sickle cell disease understand the importance of quickly telling an adult or a medical professional if they\u2019re experiencing symptoms.<\/p>\n<p>According to Samar, the Adobe Substance 3D Painter Connector for Omniverse was especially useful for setting up all of the video\u2019s environments and characters \u2014 before bringing them into the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/omniverse\/apps\/create\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">USD Composer<\/a> app for scene composition and real-time RTX rendering of the high-quality visuals.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-64084\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.nvidia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/leon-tube.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1135\" height=\"702\"><\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy using this Connector, materials were automatically imported, converted to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/design-visualization\/technologies\/material-definition-language\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Material Definition Language<\/a> and ready to go inside USD Composer with a single click,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The Adobe Substance 3D Art and Development team itself uses Omniverse in their workflows.
