Many of these advanced systems are built and tested in Texas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wistron.com\/en\/Newsroom\/2026-07-22\" rel=\"noopener\">Wistron<\/a> opened its first U.S. manufacturing facility today in Fort Worth \u2014 a 324,000-square-foot greenfield plant producing superchips at the heart of some of the world\u2019s most capable AI systems.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In front of an audience of Wistron executives, Taiwan government officials and local Fort Worth leaders, <\/span><span>NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang <\/span><span>took the stage with <\/span><span>Wistron Chairman Simon Lin at the factory\u2019s opening ceremony<\/span><span> to talk about what it means to build the infrastructure for the AI era in America.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cManufacturing is an essential pillar for every economy and every country,\u201d Huang said. \u201cBuilding chip plants, packaging plants, computer system plants like this, and AI factories all over the United States, has allowed the United States to really reindustrialize for the first time in a long time.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The plant \u2014 Wistron\u2019s D1 facility \u2014 currently runs two manufacturing cells: one producing the <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/data-center\/gb300-nvl72\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>NVIDIA GB300<\/span><\/a><span> Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip and one that will produce the <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/data-center\/technologies\/rubin\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>NVIDIA Vera Rubin<\/span><\/a><span> Superchip. D1 is scaling up this year to produce tens of thousands of boards per month of the most advanced technology in the industry.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Building AI at scale takes more than chips and code. It takes factories, supply chains and skilled workers \u2014 a domestic manufacturing base capable of building at volume and adapting as the technology moves. The Fort Worth plant is where that capacity takes shape.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>A $700 Million Commitment<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span>The state-of-the-art facility represents a $700 million commitment to advanced manufacturing in the U.S. and has created over 500 new jobs across the Texas facility, with plans to expand to 1,000 by the end of the year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIt\u2019s creating jobs in plumbing, construction, manufacturing and electricians,\u201d Huang said. \u201cSo many different types of jobs here in the United States.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_96759\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-96759\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-96759 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.nvidia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Wistron_D1_Grand_Opening_Ceremony-Factory_Tour-40-960x540.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"540\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-96759\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Inside Wistron\u2019s latest state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, Texas.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span>\u201cFrom the macro view of the whole AI world, down to community and country \u2014 it\u2019s a great vision,\u201d Lin said. \u201cI think we\u2019re going to enjoy the next era of AI life. I hope that we will be happier and healthier.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>NVIDIA has committed to manufacturing up to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.nvidia.com\/blog\/nvidia-and-partners-build-in-america-for-america\/\"><span>$500 billion in advanced AI platforms in the United States<\/span><\/a><span>. The Wistron Fort Worth factory is one of the projects making that number real.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Building First in a Virtual World<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span>Wistron<\/span> <span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/case-studies\/wistron\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">designed and fully simulated the entire facility<\/a> before construction began in a <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/glossary\/digital-twin\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>digital twin<\/span><\/a><span> built on NVIDIA\u2019s open platform, including <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/ai-data-science\/foundation-models\/nemotron\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>Nemotron<\/span><\/a><span> and <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/ai\/cosmos\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>Cosmos<\/span><\/a><span> frontier models, <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/omniverse\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>Omniverse<\/span><\/a><span> and <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/autonomous-machines\/intelligent-video-analytics-platform\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>Metropolis<\/span><\/a><span> libraries, and open frameworks including <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/developer.nvidia.com\/physicsnemo\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>PhysicsNeMo<\/span><\/a><span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>That enabled Wistron engineers to validate assembly line layouts, optimize production processes and train workers on standard operating procedures virtually \u2014 before any system came online in the real factory.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Winning Every Layer<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span>The AI era isn\u2019t just about chips \u2014 it\u2019s about winning at every layer of the stack, from semiconductors to systems to the factories that build them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cJust as agriculture is a fundamental infrastructure of society, in the future these AI factories will be a fundamental infrastructure of society,\u201d Huang said. \u201cToday we have roads and agriculture and railroads. In the future we\u2019ll have AI factories and the internet. Electricity comes in \u2026 and the tokens get generated in the factories.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The ceremony included the unveiling of the first NVIDIA GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip produced on site, which Huang signed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Huang described the system built around the NVIDIA GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip as \u201cthe most powerful AI supercomputer in the world.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_96722\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-96722\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-96722\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.nvidia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/wistron-event-july2026-kv-3840x2160-1-960x640.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"640\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-96722\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang joined Wistron Chairman Simon Lin and other technology leaders at the opening of Wistron\u2019s new manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, Texas.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span>\u201cIt has one-and-a-half million parts inside \u2014 two tons, 4 million dollars \u2014 and we\u2019re producing them like phones, right here in Wistron, cranking them out in volume because the world needs all of these machines to drive the intelligence infrastructure,\u201d Huang added.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Huang also sat down for interviews with Mike Allen of <\/span><i><span>Axios<\/span><\/i><span> and separately with Lana Ferguson of the <\/span><i><span>Dallas Morning News<\/span><\/i><span> \u2014 who also covered <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.nvidia.com\/blog\/coherent-texas-ai-optical\/\"><span>Coherent\u2019s<\/span><\/a><span> groundbreaking of a new manufacturing facility in Sherman in June.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>A new chapter of American manufacturing is taking shape in Fort Worth.
